In Chemilly-sur-Yvonnes in Burgundy, the Jeannequin family produces gherkins since the 1950s. Cultivated without herbicides or insecticides, these gherkins are picked and sorted by hand to be packaged immediately without preservatives.

Gherkins, a terrine and a baguette. The perfect combo for a French apéritif. 
On a more wintery note, gherkins are not to be missed to accompany a good raclette!
